Trading Enterprises coordinates with consumer protection authorities to inspect 2021–2025 vehicles and replace power steering pump components free of charge.

DUBAI, Sept. 5, 2026 : More than 5,600 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles across the United Arab Emirates are being recalled due to an electrical defect that can lead to sudden power-steering failure and, in severe conditions, an under-hood fire.

Automotive distributor Trading Enterprises, part of Al-Futtaim Automotive, initiated the safety recall in direct coordination with consumer protection regulators at the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism.

The safety campaign applies to 5,612 sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks spanning the 2021 through 2025 model years.

Technical inspection bulletins detail an issue within the electrical connector that supplies power to the vehicle’s electro-hydraulic power steering pump (EHPSP). Over sustained operation, this connection point can develop abnormally high electrical resistance.

A failure of this kind typically triggers a “Service Power Steering” warning indicator on the driver’s instrument cluster alongside an onboard diagnostic fault code. Drivers can experience an abrupt drop in steering assistance, demanding significantly greater physical effort to turn the steering wheel, particularly at slower speeds or during sharp turns.

Safety regulators warned that excessive resistance at the terminal can generate dangerous levels of heat. If adjacent combustible materials are exposed to this elevated thermal buildup, an engine-bay fire could ignite, posing substantial injury risks to passengers and bystanders.

Trading Enterprises, the authorized distributor for Jeep in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, confirmed it is directly reaching out to registered owners of the affected identification numbers. Customers will be directed to schedule appointments at authorized service workshops across the country.

Certified technicians will conduct detailed inspections of the wiring harnesses and power steering harness connectors. Where necessary, service teams will replace the electro-hydraulic pump assembly and associated electrical hardware.

Under consumer protection statutes overseen by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, all diagnostic inspections, replacement parts, and labor linked to the campaign are provided entirely free of charge to vehicle owners.

Owners seeking verification regarding their specific Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) can contact Trading Enterprises customer support or verify their status directly through official Jeep regional service portals.
