Ministry of Interior urges residents to avoid wadis and floodwaters following convective cloud formations and hailstorms across northern and eastern regions.
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Unstable weather conditions brought rainfall and hail to several parts of the United Arab Emirates on Saturday, prompting emergency authorities to issue public safety warnings advising residents to avoid floodwaters and hazardous terrain.
Hail was recorded in Al Madam in Sharjah and along the Khor Fakkan road. Rain fell across Al Madam, Al Faya, Masafi, and Dafta in Fujairah as convective cloud formations developed across the country’s eastern and northern regions.
The UAE Ministry of Interior called on the public to exercise caution, follow official safety instructions, and stay clear of flowing floodwaters and waterlogged zones during shifting weather patterns. In a separate advisory, the Abu Dhabi Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre warned motorists and pedestrians against crossing wadis and flooded routes, advising commuters to use alternate, safer paths.
According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), winds are anticipated to blow from southeasterly to northeasterly directions at speeds of 15 to 25 km/h, reaching up to 45 km/h near cloud formations, where blowing dust could reduce visibility.
Humidity levels are forecast to rise overnight and into Sunday morning across coastal and inland zones, with potential mist formation. Maximum humidity could touch 90 percent in Fujairah, 85 percent in Ajman, and 80 percent in Dubai and Sharjah. Peak daytime temperatures are projected to reach 36°C in Abu Dhabi, 35°C in Dubai and Sharjah, 31°C in Fujairah, and up to 39°C in Ruwais and Al Sila. Sea conditions will remain slight in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
