Jaipur: Just days before the start of the Indian Premier League, teams are facing growing concerns as injuries and player unavailability begin to impact squad preparations. Rajasthan has suffered a major setback with England all-rounder Sam Curran ruled out of the tournament due to injury.

Curran, who was expected to play a key role with both bat and ball, is reportedly dealing with a lower abdominal issue, forcing him to withdraw ahead of the season. His absence leaves a significant gap in Rajasthan’s balance as teams finalize their combinations.

In another development, New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson is also unlikely to join his IPL squad immediately, having stayed back following the birth of his child. While not ruled out entirely, his delayed arrival adds to the uncertainty for franchises already dealing with multiple setbacks.

With several players either injured or unavailable, franchises are now reassessing their strategies and bench strength ahead of the tournament opener. The increasing number of absences has raised concerns about team depth and match readiness as one of the world’s biggest T20 leagues gears up for action.
