Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships and cooperation among government entities, government departments and private-sector companies to support RTA’s priorities and enhance future readiness. This approach reflects the importance of joint action in advancing the transport and mobility ecosystem and keeping pace with Dubai’s rapid development.

This was highlighted during RTA’s Annual Partnership Forum, recently held at RTA’s Transportation Research and Innovation Pavilion (TRIP) at the University of Birmingham in Dubai Academic City. The event brought together 15 government entities and 8 business-sector entities in the UAE, with 48 participants representing partners, external experts, and representatives of RTA sectors and agencies.

Muna Al Osaimi, CEO of the Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector at RTA, said: “Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority continues to broaden and strengthen its network of partners across the public and private sectors. This forum builds on RTA’s efforts to embed a culture of corporate partnership. This year’s edition shifts the focus from knowledge exchange to deepening awareness of the value of partnerships and translating that awareness into commitments with tangible and sustainable impact. These commitments will be advanced through pioneering, actionable joint initiatives built on integration and shared responsibility, in support of Dubai’s strategic direction.”

Al Osaimi added, “Strengthening partnerships also enables RTA to keep pace with the latest technologies that support future foresight. RTA continues to leverage these technologies to enhance its range of services for the public, including residents, visitors and tourists from around the world who come to the UAE in general and Dubai in particular.”

“The forum aimed to strengthen and develop joint efforts with partners, identify views and priorities, and enhance communication channels. These efforts directly contribute to achieving RTA’s strategic goals and ensuring integrated implementation, in support of RTA’s vision: The World Leader in Seamless and Sustainable Mobility.”

The forum featured interactive workshops in which RTA partners and representatives worked in specialised groups across five themes to discuss key shared challenges and opportunities aligned with the strategic priorities. The themes covered integration and innovative mobility, sustainability, customer happiness, health, safety and security, and future readiness.

The workshops generated several proposals and joint initiatives, most notably developing services and enhancing the customer experience, strengthening security readiness and response across public transport systems, supporting the 20-Minute City, deploying artificial intelligence technologies, and focusing on sustainability and climate change initiatives.
