Supporting generative AI adoption and fostering a culture of corporate innovation

Roads and Transport Authority. 6th August 2026:Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) hosted an event showcasing the latest artificial intelligence technologies under the banner of Microsoft Copilot Day. The event featured Microsoft Copilot and associated technologies and applications, including AI assistant capabilities and Microsoft 365 Copilot Cowork.
Held as part of the implementation plan for RTA’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy, the event aimed to expand the use of generative AI in the workplace to enhance employee efficiency and productivity. It also aligned with the Dubai Government’s drive to adopt generative AI as a tool for shaping the future while fostering a culture of corporate innovation.
The event was organised by RTA’s Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Centre, under the Corporate Technology Support Services Sector, in collaboration with Microsoft, a global technology leader and a leading provider of operating systems for personal computers and servers. It brought together a select group of RTA leaders and employees from across its sectors and agencies.
The initiative also supported RTA’s ongoing efforts in this field to address diverse business needs across its sectors and agencies. It highlighted the potential of generative AI to serve as an intelligent partner to employees and managers, supporting more efficient task completion and enhancing the quality of corporate work and decision-making.
The event featured corporate use cases and interactive sessions designed to strengthen employees’ capabilities in applying generative AI technologies within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and maximising the value of Microsoft 365 Copilot in performing business tasks.
The sessions demonstrated how these technologies can improve and accelerate internal processes, corporate communications, document preparation and data analysis, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and the quality of customer services.
The event also focused on the safe and responsible use of AI technologies in line with corporate governance, information security and data protection requirements. It further emphasised the complementary roles of AI and human expertise in managing business operations and service delivery.
More broadly, the event was one of a series of initiatives and programmes implemented by RTA in artificial intelligence and digital transformation. These initiatives aim to build employees’ digital capabilities, embed a culture of innovation, support the Dubai Digital Strategy and enhance RTA’s readiness to adopt future smart solutions.

The deployment of Microsoft’s Copilot digital assistant ecosystem has delivered tangible business outcomes across RTA, with usage indicators showing improvements in daily working practices. Around 81% of users use Copilot across key workplace applications, with its use increasingly extending throughout the working day.
Average document preparation time is expected to fall by up to 25%, as employees shift from starting from scratch to focusing on refining outputs and improving their quality. This underlines Copilot’s role as an accelerator that enhances the quality of work while complementing, rather than replacing employees.
