Entities across the UAE and MENA region urged to submit innovative green mobility projects as the nomination window enters its final weeks.

DUBAI: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the 14th edition of the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) 2026 is witnessing exceptional momentum. The strong response underscores the award’s growing stature as a premier regional platform for advancing innovation and sustainability in mobility. It continues to attract high-quality submissions from government, semi-government, and private sector organizations, as well as educational institutions from across the UAE and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The official nomination window is scheduled to close on Friday, July 31, 2026. In light of this, the RTA has urged all eligible entities to complete their digital registrations promptly to showcase their landmark sustainable transport initiatives and green solutions.

Muna Al Osaimi, CEO of the Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector at RTA and Chair of the Award Organising Committee, stated that the enthusiastic participation reflects deep-seated confidence in DAST’s role as a catalyst for industrial innovation. She added that the platform serves as a vital ecosystem for sharing global best practices and expertise in eco-friendly mobility, commending the diverse multi-sectoral engagement recorded in this edition.

To broaden participation and drive a higher knowledge impact, this 14th edition has introduced major structural overhauls, bringing the total number of individual accolades to 12. The award framework is strategically divided into four primary pillars:

  • Sustainability: Encompassing the Pioneering Sustainable Cities, Outstanding Sustainable Fleet, Clean Energy for Mobility, and Urban Changemakers awards.
  • Inclusivity: Featuring the Urban Flow Improvement, Safe Transport, First and Last Mile, and Transport for All awards.
  • Innovation: Comprising Best Innovation in Transport, Outstanding Student Solutions, and NextGen for Mobility awards.
  • Elite: Representing the highest tier of institutional recognition, awarded to the single best overall entry across all categories.

Since its inception in 2008, DAST has consistently evolved its evaluation metrics to mirror rapid breakthroughs in green transit and emerging smart technologies. It has successfully established Dubai as a premier global hub for sustainable development and integrated transport infrastructure.

In line with the RTA’s commitment to advancing digital governance and optimizing user experience, the entire nomination process is handled via a seamless digital registration framework. Interested participants can submit their projects with minimal time and effort through the dedicated portal: https://www.rta.ae/wps/portal/rta/ae/home/dast.
