Sharjah: Sharjah Police have announced a comprehensive security and traffic management plan ahead of Eid al-Adha, with increased patrols across mosques, markets, beaches, and entertainment areas to ensure public safety and smooth traffic movement during the holiday period. The plan includes intensified police and traffic deployments, continuous monitoring through the central operations room, and the activation of field teams to respond rapidly to emergencies and prevent behaviour that could disrupt the festive atmosphere.
According to Brigadier Omar Al Ghazal, preparations have been completed in coordination with multiple departments as part of efforts to maintain safety and improve traffic flow across the emirate during Eid holidays. Police patrols will be heavily stationed around mosques during Eid prayers, while officers will monitor major and internal roads to reduce congestion and ensure uninterrupted vehicle movement.
Sharjah Police also announced intensified anti-begging campaigns during the holiday period, with specialised field teams carrying out inspections to curb illegal begging activities across the emirate. Traffic patrols will focus on preventing illegal and random parking near mosques, shopping centres, and recreational destinations, as such violations often lead to severe congestion and obstruct emergency access routes.
Authorities further warned against reckless driving and disturbances in residential neighbourhoods caused by irresponsible vehicle use, stating that immediate action would be taken against violators to preserve public safety and comfort. Sharjah Police urged residents travelling during the Eid break to secure their homes properly by locking doors and windows and avoiding leaving valuables unattended.
Special awareness campaigns will also be conducted at beaches and swimming areas to promote children’s safety and remind parents not to leave children unsupervised. Police said the measures form part of an integrated security strategy aimed at protecting lives and property while ensuring a safe and smooth Eid holiday experience for residents and visitors across Sharjah.
Residents were also urged to report emergencies through 999 and non-emergency incidents through 901.
