International crackdown codenamed ‘End of the Battle’ nets 33 suspects across 12 nationalities involved in extortion, violent abductions, and an Dh8.82 billion money-laundering pipeline.

SHARJAH — October 15, 2026 : Sharjah Police, working alongside the UAE Ministry of Interior and international law enforcement agencies, have dismantled four interconnected transnational organized crime syndicates, arresting 33 suspects representing 12 nationalities and safeguarding over Dh65 billion in assets belonging to more than 30 institutions worldwide.

The operation, codenamed “End of the Battle,” unraveled an elaborate criminal network that combined advanced cyber intrusions and artificial intelligence with violent real-world extortion.

Investigators revealed that the syndicate operated through four distinct, coordinated wings designed to maximize illicit revenue while scrubbing digital paper trails. The first wing executed sophisticated hacking attacks, data theft, and AI-driven phishing schemes to breach corporate databases and private digital infrastructure.

A second arm functioned as a specialized laundering syndicate, moving proceeds through crypto wallets and banking conduits across several continents. The third focused entirely on social engineering, deceiving targets into surrendering access to their digital accounts.

The fourth wing enforced the operation through direct physical violence, abducting victims, assaulting them, and using coercion to extract private keys and digital wallet passwords.

Financial transactions tied to the laundering operations reached Dh8,825,381,741.50 ($2.4 billion), according to findings presented by the Sharjah Public Prosecution. Stolen capital was systematically layered through digital wallets and corporate bank accounts before being poured into high-end real estate, luxury vehicles, high-value watches, and fine jewelry.

Authorities seized more than Dh200 million in cash during the raids and froze or placed under audit over 3,000 digital wallets. Confiscated assets also include 17 luxury cars, 29 rare watches, fine jewelry, a completed luxury villa, two villas currently under construction, and two plots of residential land.

Sharjah Police Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer detailed the operation during a press briefing at Sharjah Media City (Shams). He emphasized that cross-border coordination allowed investigators to track ringleaders operating overseas and extradite them to the UAE to face prosecution.

The case file involved examining more than 10,000 documents and analytical reports, inspecting 103 electronic devices, convening 142 judicial investigative sessions, and issuing 478 judicial warrants alongside 385 official decisions. Investigators also coordinated 109 requests through financial intelligence units and initiated eight international legal assistance procedures.

Sharjah Attorney General Counsellor Anwar Al Harmoudi confirmed that the Public Prosecution worked in tandem with tactical teams to freeze transaction corridors, trace obfuscated funds, and bring all identified operatives into custody.
