ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence confirmed Sunday morning that its national air defense systems successfully engaged and intercepted multiple hostile ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran.
The military action prompted emergency sirens and automated precautionary mobile alerts across the country, instructing residents to shelter in safe locations. The ministry clarified that the loud explosions heard in various regions were the direct result of the air defense infrastructure neutralizing the threats in mid-air.
Following the successful defense operations, authorities issued a nationwide follow-up mobile notification confirming that the immediate threat had been resolved and the situation throughout the emirates is completely safe. The emergency services thanked the public for their swift cooperation and stated that normal daily activities can now safely resume.
Government officials emphasized that comprehensive security protocols remain active to maintain public safety and minimize daily life disruptions. The public is strongly urged to rely solely on official communication channels and completely refrain from distributing unverified rumors or social media speculation.
