Cairo condemns recent attacks on UAE facilities; Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi review joint military readiness.
ABU DHABI – UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Abu Dhabi today for high-level talks focused on national security and the deepening of bilateral ties. The fraternal visit comes at a critical juncture for Middle Eastern stability, as both leaders sought to align their strategies against emerging regional threats.
During the meeting, the two heads of state explored avenues for enhanced cooperation, particularly in sectors that drive shared development and economic prosperity. The discussions underscored the “special nature” of the UAE-Egypt relationship, which has long served as a cornerstone of Arab world diplomacy.
Solidarity Against Aggression
A primary focus of the summit was the security situation in the Gulf. President El-Sisi issued a staunch condemnation of recent Iranian-backed attacks targeting civilian infrastructure in the UAE. Reaffirming Cairo’s unwavering stance, the Egyptian President emphasized that the security of the UAE is inextricably linked to Egypt’s own national security.
He further pledged Egypt’s full support for any measures the UAE deems necessary to safeguard its sovereignty, territory, and the safety of its citizens.
Military Readiness and Strategic Cooperation
In a significant display of defense synergy, the two leaders visited the Egyptian fighter jet detachment currently stationed in the UAE. They reviewed the operational readiness of the personnel and the ongoing efforts to bolster joint military capabilities. This visit highlights the practical, boots-on-the-ground cooperation between the two nations in addressing asymmetric regional challenges.
