Foreign ministers from eight Arab and Islamic countries warn that strikes on healthcare facilities and civilians threaten regional peace initiatives and international law.

ABU DHABI / CAIRO — August 6, 2026:The United Arab Emirates and seven Arab and Islamic nations issued a joint statement on Thursday strongly condemning ongoing Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip, specifically citing attacks on healthcare facilities, civilian infrastructure, and the continuous loss of innocent lives.

Foreign ministers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Türkiye declared that repeated strikes on civilian sectors constitute severe breaches of international law and international humanitarian law. The coalition warned that these operational escalations risk derailing broader diplomatic frameworks, including regional stability efforts and the implementation of international peace roadmaps.

In their statement, the ministers stressed that civilian populations, medical workers, and humanitarian personnel must receive immediate protection. They called for the unhindered delivery of critical relief supplies, food, and medical aid throughout all sectors of the enclave.

Diplomats noted that military actions in Gaza cannot be viewed in isolation from parallel developments in the occupied West Bank. The joint statement highlighted growing concern over settler violence and illegal measures in Palestinian territories, describing them as systematic efforts that erode the viability of a future two-state solution.

The eight nations reaffirmed their total rejection of any measures aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians, annexing occupied territory, or altering the legal and historic status of the land. They reiterated that durable peace in the Middle East remains unattainable without establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The joint declaration urged the United Nations Security Council and the international community to enforce international compliance, hold violators accountable, and secure a lasting, comprehensive ceasefire
