Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Dr. S. Jaishankar review trade, investment flows, and regional security under bilateral economic pacts
ABU DHABI —United Arab Emirates Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Abu Dhabi to review growing economic ties and assess regional developments.
Talks centered on expanding bilateral cooperation through the UAE-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Both ministers examined the trajectory of joint programs across trade, capital investment, energy security, and development sectors aligned with their domestic economic goals.
Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the durability of bilateral ties, emphasizing that Abu Dhabi and New Delhi continue to identify strategic opportunities that support sustainable growth and deliver mutual economic benefit.
India and the UAE have accelerated bilateral engagement since CEPA entered into force, removing tariffs on thousands of product lines and driving non-oil trade toward targeted thresholds. The framework has facilitated deeper private-sector integration, institutional investments into infrastructure corridors, and financial connectivity initiatives between the two markets.
Regional security issues also featured prominently on the agenda. The two ministers assessed evolving developments across the Middle East and surrounding maritime zones, where both nations share core interests in supply chain stability, energy transit routes, and regional diplomatic de-escalation.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to sustain regular diplomatic coordination across bilateral and multilateral platforms.
