DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has highly praised the performance of the Egyptian national football team following their thrilling match against the world champions.
In a social media post, Sheikh Mohammed described the match as an “Egyptian Arab heroic” display where the “Pharaohs fought against the world champion until the very last minute.”
Expressing immense pride in their resilient spirit, the Dubai Ruler stated, “We take pride in their Egyptian spirit… and we thank them, and the world thanks them, for the entertaining and wonderful match.”
Offering words of encouragement despite the narrow defeat, he added, “Hard luck… and you will return heroes to your Arab homeland… and you will remain heroes in the eyes of all Arabs.” The post has since garnered widespread appreciation across the Arab world, reflecting the strong bond of Arab unity and sportsmanship.
