Abu Dhabi/Dubai: Life in the United Arab Emirates has returned to normal after several days of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds disrupted daily activities across the country.
Authorities confirmed that the unstable weather conditions have now subsided, with the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announcing that the situation has stabilised nationwide.
The recent spell of bad weather brought widespread rainfall, flooding, and traffic disruptions in major cities including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. Municipal teams worked round the clock to clear waterlogged roads and restore essential services.
Following extensive clean-up operations, public life is gradually returning to normal. Schools and government offices are set to resume regular functioning, while supermarkets and public spaces have begun witnessing normal crowds again.
Transport services, including intercity bus operations between Dubai and Sharjah, have resumed after temporary suspension due to flooding. Flight operations, which were affected by the adverse weather, are also returning to normal schedules.
In some regions such as Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, emergency teams had carried out rescue operations, moving stranded residents to safety during flash floods.
Despite the improvement in weather conditions, authorities have urged residents to remain cautious, especially in low-lying areas where waterlogging may still persist. Motorists have been advised to drive carefully and avoid valleys and dam areas due to potential risks.
Officials also emphasized the importance of following updates from official sources and avoiding the spread of misinformation during extreme weather events.
The UAE, known for its desert climate, occasionally experiences short but intense bursts of rainfall, which can lead to temporary disruptions. However, swift response measures and coordinated efforts by authorities ensured a quick return to normalcy.
