With biohacks, detoxes and viral diet challenges flooding digital platforms, 2026 is shaping up to be a year of wellness recalibration. Nutritionist Nmami Agarwal is urging individuals to move away from health extremes and return to fundamentals that support longevity and balance.

In a social media post that resonated widely, Agarwal stressed that the coming year should prioritise consistency over complexity. According to her, real health is reflected not in perfection but in everyday markers such as sustained energy, smooth digestion, restful sleep, hormonal balance and stable blood reports.

One of the most overlooked aspects of nutrition, she points out, is iron status. Agarwal clarifies that haemoglobin alone does not give the full picture. Ferritin levels are crucial, as they indicate how much iron the body has stored for future use.

Addressing the probiotic boom, she cautions against viewing supplements as a quick fix for gut health. Instead, she advocates for diverse, whole foods, explaining that a varied diet strengthens the gut microbiome more effectively than isolated products.

She also debunks the idea that feeling full equals eating well. Stable blood sugar, she explains, is the true marker of nourishing meals. Including protein, healthy fats, fibre and complex carbohydrates can help prevent fatigue, cravings and mood fluctuations.

Agarwal concludes by advising people to let go of short-lived wellness fads in 2026. Consistent sleep routines, daily physical activity, hydration, balanced meals and regular medical check-ups, she says, will always outperform trend-driven health practices.
