Abu Dhabi: Fresh food supplies are being flown into the UAE through special chartered cargo flights as retailers step up efforts to ensure store shelves remain well stocked.
LuLu Group International said it has arranged dedicated cargo operations from India and other global markets to maintain a steady flow of food products into the country.
A cargo freighter operated by Etihad Airways recently delivered around 12,000 packages of fresh produce weighing nearly 80,000 kilograms from India to Abu Dhabi. The retailer said additional cargo shipments are planned in the coming days to maintain stock levels across its stores in the UAE.
Earlier, LuLu Group also transported around 80 tonnes of meat from New Delhi, while more consignments are being arranged from Indian cities including Mumbai and Bengaluru, as well as global sourcing hubs such as Melbourne.

The dedicated cargo flights allow large volumes of perishable goods to reach the UAE quickly, helping maintain a steady supply of fresh fruits, vegetables and other essential food items.
“Our priority is to ensure that families across the UAE continue to have access to fresh food and essential products without any concern,” said Yusuffali M.A..

Retailers said more cargo flights carrying food products are expected in the coming days as efforts continue to strengthen food supply across UAE stores.
