The prestigious recognition highlights RTA’s commitment to aligning with the UAE’s national agenda for sustainable development, climate change adaptation, economic diversification, and improved quality of life.The award comes as part of RTA’s broader efforts under the Public Transport Sustainability Framework 2030, which outlines a future-ready roadmap built around three strategic pillars: environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
Economic Excellence
RTA has earned multiple international certifications, including:
• BS 8001:2017 for Circular Economy
• ISO 20400:2017 for Sustainable Procurement
• A specialized Financial Sustainability Certification, all granted by the British Standards Institution (BSI).
These accreditations underscore RTA’s commitment to responsible resource use and financial transparency.
Environmental Commitment
RTA’s long-term Net Zero Emissions Strategy for 2050 aims to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of its public transport systems, facilities, and supporting infrastructure. The Authority is actively transitioning to clean technologies and sustainable practices across operations.
