Bidding opens October 24 at Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City, featuring prized plates such as BB 80, BB 18, and CC 44.
DUBAI, Oct. 19, 2026 :Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority will put 60 premium two-, three-, four-, and five-digit vehicle registration plates under the hammer this Saturday at its 121st Open Auction.
The live sale takes place on October 24 at the Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City, the transit regulator announced Monday. Headlining the catalogue are three rare two-digit plates: BB 80, BB 18, and CC 44.
The offering spans 10 distinct plate codes: AA, BB, CC, H, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z. Aside from the headline double-digit plates, the auction floor will feature symmetrical combinations, repeating numbers, and shorter digit runs designed to appeal to both private collectors and automotive investors.
Bidders must register in advance. Online registration opened Monday, October 19, via the authority’s official portal (rta.ae). In-person registration is available at RTA Customer Happiness Centres across Umm Ramool, Deira, and Al Barsha.
Entry to the bidding floor requires strict compliance with RTA financial guidelines. Prospective buyers must hold an active Dubai traffic file, submit a non-refundable participation fee of AED 120, and deposit a refundable security cheque for AED 25,000.
Doors open at the venue from 2:00 PM on October 24, with live bidding commencing shortly afterward.
Winning bidders must settle payments in full within 10 working days of the auction date. Under authority regulations, failure to clear balances within this statutory window results in the forfeiture of the security deposit and places the defaulting bidder on the RTA’s list of non-compliant participants.
All plate sales are subject to the standard 5% UAE Value-Added Tax (VAT). Successful bidders face no cap on how many plates they can acquire, provided all transactions adhere to official terms.
Dubai’s open number plate auctions consistently draw strong domestic and regional attention. For collectors, the events offer access to high-status registration markers that routinely appreciate in value across secondary collector markets. For the RTA, regular open sales provide a structured, transparent mechanism to meet growing appetite among luxury motorists and portfolio buyers.
