Air India Express has announced the launch of direct flights between Navi Mumbai International Airport and Abu Dhabi, becoming the first airline to operate international services from Maharashtra’s newly opened airport.
The inaugural flight is scheduled to commence on July 15, 2026, with two weekly services operating every Wednesday and Friday. From July 29, 2026, the airline will expand operations to three weekly flights, adding a Sunday service to meet growing travel demand.

The new route is expected to provide greater convenience for passengers across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region by offering an alternative international gateway and reducing dependence on the existing Mumbai airport.
The launch also strengthens air connectivity between India’s financial hub and the UAE capital, supporting business travel, tourism, and the large expatriate community residing in the Gulf region.
With the introduction of the Abu Dhabi service, Air India Express will operate a total of 30 weekly flights from Navi Mumbai International Airport, further expanding its network from the new aviation hub.
The airline said the route forms part of its broader strategy to enhance international connectivity and provide passengers with more travel options between India and key destinations across the Middle East.
The launch marks a significant milestone for Navi Mumbai International Airport as it begins international operations and strengthens its role in supporting the region’s growing aviation and passenger traffic requirements.
