Air India Express has announced a special relief for expatriates travelling from Gulf countries to India during the holiday season by offering discounted rates on additional check-in baggage.

Passengers can pre-book five kg or ten kg of extra baggage at reduced prices, over and above the existing 30 kg allowance. The offer is valid for travel between January 16 and March 10, for passengers flying from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE to India.

Tickets must be booked on or before January 31 through the Air India Express website, mobile app, or other authorised booking platforms to avail of the offer.

The discounted baggage rates start as low as 0.2 BHD in Bahrain, 0.2 KD in Kuwait, 0.2 OMR in Oman, 1 QAR in Qatar, 2 SAR in Saudi Arabia, and 2 AED in the UAE. The offer applies across fare categories including Express Value, Express Lite, Express Flex, and Express Biz.

With the additional baggage option, eligible passengers can now carry up to 40 kg of check-in baggage, providing significant relief for expatriates travelling home.
