Dubai, Roads and Transport Authority, 16 January 2026 — Participants of the 11th edition of the Dubai International Project Management Forum (DIPMF) visited a selection of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks and pioneering infrastructure projects, gaining first-hand insights into advanced project management practices, automation, sustainability, and digital transformation.

The visits included the Dubai Intelligent Traffic Systems Centre, Autonomous Vehicles, the Autonomous Abra, The View at Palm Jumeirah, Deep Dive Dubai, and Dubai Frame. Organised by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in coordination with relevant entities, the programme highlighted best practices in planning, execution, and innovation across large-scale public and smart city projects.

RTA officials provided comprehensive briefings on each project, outlining their objectives, operational models, and the lessons learned throughout planning and implementation. The visits underscored the critical role of project management in driving infrastructure innovation and strengthening Dubai’s position as a global destination to live and work.

Forum participants from Gulf, Arab, and international countries praised the diversity and sophistication of the projects, recognising each destination as a benchmark for engineering excellence, creative design, and effective service delivery.

At the Dubai Intelligent Traffic Systems Centre, delegates observed how artificial intelligence, big data analytics, the Internet of Things, and integrated communication systems are used to monitor and optimise traffic flow across the Emirate.

The Autonomous Vehicles programme demonstrated Dubai’s commitment to reshaping urban mobility through innovation, offering participants insights into multidisciplinary collaboration, pilot project management, and citywide scalability.

Participants also explored the Autonomous Abra, a zero-emission vessel locally designed and built by RTA teams. The abra accommodates eight passengers, operates silently, reduces operating and maintenance costs by 30%, and preserves the traditional identity of Dubai’s marine transport.

At The View at Palm Jumeirah, delegates experienced panoramic 360-degree views from 240 metres above the Palm, reflecting Dubai’s ability to translate ambitious visions into engineering realities.

The visit to Deep Dive Dubai showcased the world’s deepest swimming pool, inspired by the UAE’s pearling heritage and designed as a submerged city. The facility also serves as an underwater film studio and a unique destination for divers of all skill levels.

The tour concluded at Dubai Frame, a 150-metre-high architectural landmark linking old and modern Dubai. The attraction offers immersive digital exhibitions, panoramic views, and interactive experiences that narrate Dubai’s past, present, and future.

The visits provided project management leaders with valuable, real-world perspectives on how innovation, sustainability, and digital solutions are successfully integrated into Dubai’s landmark developments.
