The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) has launched its public-focused initiative titled “Closer to You” at Global Village, aiming to strengthen direct engagement with the community and provide faster access to government services. The month-long initiative began on January 5, 2026, and will continue until February 5, 2026.

The initiative allows visitors to Global Village to explore official visa-related and smart government services alongside entertainment, all through a specially designed interactive platform. The setup enables the public to gain firsthand information about GDRFA Dubai’s services and complete necessary procedures in a simplified and user-friendly manner.

Services showcased include visa renewal, entry permits, Golden Visa, work permits, and identity and nationality-related services. Visitors can also experience special offerings such as children’s passport control, the 04 platform, the Red Carpet Corridor, and the Happiness Card. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai, highlighted that the initiative reflects the authority’s commitment to innovation and customer happiness.

Operating daily from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, the platform provides visitors with the opportunity to interact directly with GDRFA officials, clarify doubts, and share feedback and suggestions. Strengthening public participation and trust through open dialogue remains a core objective of the initiative.

Designed to appeal to families and children, the event also features engaging activities such as “Spin and Win”, educational games, and interactive programs. In addition, daily surprise gifts and weekly grand prizes are offered to visitors.

The “Closer to You” initiative is seen as a significant step toward enhancing public confidence in government services while contributing to improved happiness and quality of life for residents, expatriates, and tourists visiting Global Village.
