Dubai Police have issued a fresh public warning against fake recruitment advertisements circulating widely on social media platforms, urging residents to remain vigilant against online fraud.
According to the Anti-Fraud Centre of Dubai Police, scammers are increasingly exploiting online platforms by posing as recruitment agents with the intention of illegally extracting money from unsuspecting residents. Authorities highlighted that these fraudsters often target individuals seeking domestic help or employment services.
Dubai Police strongly advised residents to deal only with licensed and officially approved recruitment offices operating within the UAE. Transferring money to individuals or entities promoting recruitment services outside official legal channels carries a high risk of fraud, the Anti-Fraud Centre cautioned.
Police emphasized that following authorized recruitment procedures is the only way to safeguard the legal rights of all parties involved — employers, workers, and recruitment agencies.
The warning has been issued as part of Dubai Police’s #BewareofFraud campaign, which aims to raise public awareness about criminal tactics and encourage greater caution while engaging with online offers. Residents were reminded to verify the legal authenticity of service providers before sharing personal information or making any payments.
Dubai Police urged the public to promptly report fraudulent activities or suspicious online advertisements through official channels, including the Dubai Police Smart App, the eCrime platform for reporting cybercrime, or the non-emergency call center at 901.
Authorities stressed that swift reporting helps protect the wider community and prevents others from falling victim to scams.
