Dubai Police have issued a strong warning against fraudulent work visa schemes, urging the public to remain vigilant against scammers offering fake employment visas. The alert was released by the Anti-Fraud Centre of the General Department of Criminal Investigation as part of the ongoing #BewareOfFraud awareness campaign.
According to Dubai Police, fraudsters often lure victims by making false promises of job sponsorships and guaranteed work visas that have no legal basis. Authorities stressed that the only safe and legitimate way to obtain a UAE work visa is through official government channels or legally licensed recruitment agencies.
As part of the campaign, police have outlined several precautions for residents and job seekers to protect themselves from falling victim to visa-related fraud. These include verifying the authenticity of any visa offer with relevant authorities before making payments, using only approved government platforms for documentation, and avoiding individuals or unofficial groups claiming to provide “guaranteed” visas outside legal procedures.
Dubai Police have also encouraged the public not to remain silent if targeted by scammers. Reporting suspicious offers or fraud attempts plays a vital role in protecting the wider community.
Victims or witnesses of fraud or cybercrime can report incidents through the Dubai Police Smart App, the dedicated e-crime reporting platform, or by calling 901 for non-emergency assistance and specialist support.
