Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a contract for the development of the Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street intersections with Al Awir Road and Al Manama Street, as part of efforts to enhance road infrastructure and traffic flow. The project includes the construction of 2,300 metres of bridges, expansion of lanes, and development of service roads and access points serving surrounding residential and development areas.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer said the project will increase road capacity by 176%, from 5,200 to 14,400 vehicles per hour in both directions, and reduce travel time from 20 minutes to just five. Scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2028, the project will support growing traffic demand and serve areas with a combined population exceeding 600,000 residents and visitors
