Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has been globally recognized as the “Best Innovation Hub” at the Global Innovation Management Institute (GIMI) Innovation Awards 2025, marking a significant milestone in its journey of pioneering government innovation.

The prestigious award highlights RTA’s role as a leading platform for innovation, particularly in the mobility sector, and underscores Dubai’s growing prominence in the global innovation ecosystem. Shaikha Ahmed Almeheiri, Director of Innovation and Pioneering at RTA’s Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector, emphasized that the Innovation Accelerator programme and the ScaleUp Mobility initiative have been instrumental in identifying, supporting, and scaling start-up innovations. These programmes strengthen public-private partnerships and directly link innovation initiatives to operational outcomes.

Almeheiri noted, “This global recognition affirms the strength and integration of the innovation ecosystem at RTA. Our programmes transform research and innovative solutions into practical, implementable outcomes, aligned with the future of mobility and RTA’s long-term strategies.”

The award ceremony took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with participation from global innovation experts, government leaders, and private-sector representatives. Beyond RTA, this recognition reinforces Dubai’s standing as a global hub for emerging urban mobility technologies and boosts confidence among start-ups and investors in the UAE’s innovation landscape.
