Fragrance World, founded by renowned perfume entrepreneur Poland Moosa, celebrated its presence in more than 150 countries with a grand event held at Expo City Dubai, marking a major milestone in the brand’s global journey.
The celebrations commenced with a spectacular drone show that unveiled a special logo commemorating Fragrance World’s expansion across 150 countries. The aerial display narrated the brand’s history and featured the digital signature of Chairman and Founder Poland Moosa. The unveiling took place in the presence of acclaimed Indian film actor Mammootty, CEO P. V. Salam, Joint CEO P. V. Safeer, and Mr. Labeeb.
The event also featured the premiere of the docu-fiction film “Kunjon,” based on the life of Poland Moosa. Directed by Jeevan Jose and filmed across multiple international locations, the production involved nearly 200 actors in major and supporting roles. The film is scheduled for release on digital platforms in the coming days. In addition, the cover of the book “Fragrance of Legacy,” written by Sebin Paulose and based on Moosa’s biography, was unveiled. The author attended the event along with his friend Abdulla, who inspired the work.

More than 2,000 guests attended the celebration, including distributors from approximately 150 countries, prominent business leaders from Dubai, and employees of Fragrance World. Special guests included Elizabeth Szczyglowska from Poland, who first supported Moosa’s business journey; Liliya Petrova from Bulgaria, who placed the company’s first foreign order in 1989; Konstin Vazniko from Russia, who facilitated entry into the Russian market in 1993; and Rishad Sahverdiev from Azerbaijan, who has been associated with Moosa since 1995. Poland Moosa honoured all of them during the ceremony.
A large parade involving nearly 1,000 factory workers was also held at Expo City Dubai. As part of the celebrations, a special reception was organised and valuable gifts were distributed to employees. Staff members who completed 30, 20, and 10 years of service, along with those who delivered outstanding performance, were recognised on stage. Gifts worth more than AED 3 million were distributed among employees and workers.
The Story Behind the Brand
Born in 1959 in Kerala, India, during a deadly smallpox epidemic, Poland Moosa’s life began with extraordinary adversity. Declared unlikely to survive by a traditional healer shortly after birth, he recovered through the determination and care of his mother. His journey later took him away from home at a young age, leading him to work various jobs to survive.
Moosa arrived in Dubai in 1977 and began his career as a domestic helper before entering the retail trade. In 1988, he launched his first business venture, Al Ghuroob, and later travelled to Poland in search of new opportunities—a decision that proved transformational. His success in Eastern Europe earned him the name “Poland Moosa,” which became synonymous with his business identity.
Despite having only a third-grade education, Moosa speaks more than 15 languages. In 2004, he founded Fragrance World, which rapidly expanded across international markets. The launch of the French Avenue brand in 2012 further strengthened the company’s global presence. Today, Fragrance World offers over 4,000 perfume variants and produces hundreds of thousands of bottles daily.
From humble beginnings, Poland Moosa has built Fragrance World into a global fragrance powerhouse operating in more than 150 countries—an achievement that places him among a rare group of Indian entrepreneurs with truly global success.
