Fujairah: Fujairah has been selected to host the third edition of the West Asia Archery Cup 2026, with the tournament scheduled to take place from October 15 to 22.
The decision was approved by the West Asia Archery Federation, with the event expected to attract wide participation from national teams across the West Asian region.
According to Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al Shadoukhi, the championship will include under-18, under-21, and senior divisions in both recurve and compound bow categories for men and women.
Al Shadoukhi said the tournament is part of broader efforts to support the development and preparation of West Asian archers across all age groups while raising the technical standards of the sport in the region.
The competition will also serve as an important preparation platform for national teams ahead of the third stage of the upcoming Asian Cup Championship, scheduled to be held in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, from October 24 to 29.
Officials said hosting the championship further strengthens Fujairah’s position as an emerging regional destination for international sporting events and supports the UAE’s continued efforts to promote sports development across multiple disciplines.
