Prime Minister Narendra Modi has begun his two-day official visit to Oman, receiving a warm welcome upon his arrival at Muscat’s Royal Airport. The Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation were accorded a ceremonial reception led by Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs.
Following his arrival, Prime Minister Modi proceeded to Al Bustan Palace Hotel, where he was welcomed with traditional Indian and Omani cultural dance performances, reflecting the strong historical and cultural ties between the two nations.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will participate in a series of official engagements. The visit coincides with the celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Oman, underscoring the depth and longevity of bilateral ties.
On Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address the Indian community at the Madinat Al Irfan Theatre at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. Later, he will hold talks with Oman’s ruler, Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. The meeting is expected to focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation, with particular attention on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries.
Discussions are also expected to cover enhanced collaboration in key areas including defence, trade, culture, and economic cooperation. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to conclude his visit and return to New Delhi by Tuesday evening.
