DUBAI :One person died and five others sustained injuries following a gas cylinder explosion at an establishment along Sheikh Zayed Road on Monday, emergency authorities confirmed.
Dubai Civil Defence teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving reports of a blast along the prominent thoroughfare. Firefighters brought the resulting fire under control within minutes, preventing flames from spreading to adjoining commercial properties.
Emergency medical teams provided immediate first aid at the site before transporting the five injured individuals to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Authorities confirmed that the deceased succumbed to severe injuries at the scene.
Police units cordoned off the area around the incident site to facilitate search and rescue operations, briefly diverting traffic along affected lanes. Normal traffic flow resumed shortly after civil defence personnel completed cooling operations and secured the building.
