The Doha-based carrier is expanding its schedule in phases to offer five daily services ahead of the peak summer travel rush.

DOHA — In a major move to accommodate the surging demand for summer travel, Qatar Airways has announced a phased expansion of its flight network to the United Arab Emirates. The Doha-based carrier will scale up its daily flight frequencies between Hamad International Airport (DOH) and Dubai International Airport (DXB), increasing operations from two daily flights to five daily services.

According to the airline’s official announcement, the service expansion is being rolled out in strategic increments to offer travelers maximum flexibility. The existing double-daily flight schedule has already been upgraded to three daily flights. This will be followed closely by the introduction of a fourth daily rotation on June 15, culminating in a fifth daily flight later in the summer season.

To maintain premium operational standards and high passenger capacity on this heavily trafficked regional route, Qatar Airways will deploy its wide-body aircraft fleet, primarily utilising the Boeing 777 and Airbus A350. Once fully implemented, the expansion will provide up to 35 weekly flights between Doha and Dubai, vastly enhancing transit options for both leisure vacationers and corporate commuters.

“This expansion reinforces Qatar Airways’ commitment to enhancing connectivity within the region and supporting both business and leisure travel between Qatar and the United Arab Emirates,” the airline stated in its operational release.

This capacity hike comes at a crucial time as Middle Eastern carriers aggressively rebuild their regional networks to pre-disruption levels. Qatar Airways has been steadily restoring its Gulf footprint over the last few months, having successfully resumed services to Dubai and Sharjah earlier in April, followed by the restoration of its Abu Dhabi routes in May.

The increased connectivity to Dubai is part of a broader, ambitious global strategy mapping out the airline’s network growth. By the peak of this summer season, the award-winning carrier aims to seamlessly connect passengers to more than 160 destinations worldwide through its central hub in Doha.
