The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with Dubai Police, honoured companies, strategic partners, and 200 professional delivery bike riders during the second edition of the Delivery Sector Excellence Award, held at the Dubai Police Officers Club.
The awards were presented by His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, and His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. The initiative is the first of its kind in the region to recognise excellence among delivery riders and companies, following an analytical study of delivery drivers’ behaviour.
The Award aims to enhance safety, quality, and sustainability standards in the rapidly expanding delivery sector, while encouraging strict adherence to traffic regulations and occupational safety requirements.
In the Best Delivery Company category, ELITE Zone Delivery Services secured first place, followed by ZONE Delivery Services and ZAJEL Logistics Services. Under the Best Delivery Company via Platforms and Smart Applications category, DB L.L.C – Delivery Hero (Talabat) won first place, with Careem Delivery Services and Motoboy Delivery Services taking second and third positions respectively.
The ceremony also honoured 200 outstanding delivery riders, doubling the number of awardees from the first edition. This included 50 Gold, 60 Silver, and 90 Bronze category riders, with rewards increased in line with performance levels.
A new category introduced this year, Best Strategic Partner, was awarded to Majid Al Futtaim Group in recognition of its contribution to improving delivery riders’ welfare, including the provision and maintenance of water dispensers at RTA-operated rider rest areas.
Commenting on the occasion, Mattar Al Tayer stated that the Award is one of RTA’s regulatory tools to embed safety, quality, and sustainability across fast-growing sectors. He emphasised that investing in occupational safety and rider empowerment strengthens sector sustainability and reinforces Dubai’s global leadership in smart and integrated transport systems.
Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri highlighted that traffic safety remains a core strategic priority for Dubai Police, aligned with the Dubai Road Safety Strategy. He noted that recognising excellence in the delivery sector promotes responsible traffic behaviour and strengthens partnerships aimed at creating a safe and sustainable mobility environment.
The second edition of the Award recorded a 20% increase in participation, with a transparent evaluation process conducted jointly by RTA and Dubai Police specialists. The event concluded with the recognition of judging committee members and work teams, followed by a group photograph of the honourees.
