Dubai:Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of four new public bus routes and comprehensive upgrades to more than 70 existing routes, effective 9 January 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance public transport efficiency and improve mobility across the emirate.
The initiative aims to optimise operational performance, expand geographic coverage and better manage passenger demand during morning and evening peak periods, reinforcing RTA’s vision of becoming “The World Leader in Seamless and Sustainable Mobility.”
Four New Bus Routes
The newly introduced routes are designed to support operational efficiency on existing services:
• Route 88A: Operates one way from Al Satwa Bus Station to Jumeirah 3 during the morning peak.
• Route 88B: Operates in the opposite direction from Jumeirah 3 to Al Satwa Bus Station during the evening peak.
• Route 93A: Runs one way from Al Satwa Bus Station to Al Wasl during the morning peak.
• Route 93B: Operates from Al Wasl to Al Satwa Bus Station during the evening peak.
These routes will enhance service reliability and reduce congestion on Routes 88 and 93 during high-demand hours.

Enhancements to Existing Routes
Alongside the new routes, RTA will implement a series of improvements across more than 70 bus services, including running time adjustments, route realignments, timetable updates, depot changes and stop sequence corrections. Key enhancements include:

Improved Passenger Experience
RTA stated that these changes are aimed at reducing waiting times, increasing service frequency during peak hours, and improving overall journey comfort for passengers. The authority encouraged commuters to check updated routes, schedules and stop information through the S’hail App.
This expansion underscores RTA’s commitment to providing reliable, high-quality public transport services that meet the evolving needs of Dubai’s residents and visitors, while supporting sustainable urban mobility across the emirate.
