Traffic will be diverted from Wednesday through Friday between Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan Bu Alian Square and Saeed bin Obaid Al-Jarwan Square.
SHARJAH, UAE : Motorists traveling through Sharjah face temporary traffic disruptions this week following a planned three-day road closure in the Al Jazat district.
The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has announced a temporary full road closure from Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan Bu Alian Square to Saeed bin Obaid Al-Jarwan Square. The closure takes effect from Wednesday through Friday to accommodate routine road maintenance and critical infrastructure development.
The temporary shutdown specifically impacts traffic flow on the Al Jazat sector of the thoroughfare. SRTA officials confirmed that the work forms part of ongoing Emirate-wide efforts to modernise public infrastructure and enhance road network efficiency.
To mitigate congestion, transport authorities have urged all drivers to plan journeys in advance and utilize designated alternative routes during the three-day operational window. Motorists are advised to follow posted directional signage, respect temporary speed limits, and adhere to traffic safety guidelines set along the diversion routes.
The announcement aligns with SRTA’s broader urban infrastructure program, which frequently schedules maintenance during off-peak periods to minimize disruption for daily commuters between Sharjah and neighbouring Emirates. Normal traffic operations are expected to resume once maintenance teams finalize roadwork by late Friday.
