Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri outlines key partnerships with India and Brazil following the adoption of the Jaipur Declaration
JAIPUR, India:The United Arab Emirates has pledged its support for a new multilateral tourism initiative following the adoption of the landmark Jaipur Declaration at the BRICS Tourism Ministers’ Meeting in India.
The declaration, finalized after high-level talks chaired by India under the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,” establishes a framework centered on artificial intelligence integration, responsible travel, capacity building, and seamless international mobility.
Representing the UAE, Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri endorsed the creation of the “BRICS Tourism Solutions Exchange Platform.” The digital infrastructure is designed to serve as a shared repository for member states to exchange industry expertise, train personnel, and implement innovative destination management systems.
“Tourism extends far beyond the movement of visitors between destinations; it is a primary driver of investment, economic growth, and job creation,” Al Marri stated during the ministerial sessions, emphasizing the sector’s role in building economic resilience across emerging markets.
The consensus communiqué places special emphasis on human-centered AI tools to improve visitor services, overcome language barriers, and streamline travel logistics. It also outlines commitments to protect natural and cultural heritage sites while strengthening public-private partnerships between academic institutions and travel trade operators.
On the sidelines of the summit, Al Marri held bilateral discussions with India’s Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Brazil’s Minister of Tourism, Gustavo Costa Feliciano. The meetings focused on expanding direct visitor flows, co-hosting regional promotional events, and sharing operational strategies for destination development between the UAE, South America, and South Asia.
