The United Arab Emirates has categorically denied reports published by certain international media outlets alleging that funds were transferred from the UAE to the Islamic Republic of Iran, including claims involving an alleged transfer of USD 3 billion.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the allegations as completely false and without any factual basis.
The ministry stressed that no frozen Iranian funds have been released, transferred, or facilitated through the UAE, rejecting the claims circulating in sections of the international media.
MoFA reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to transparency, compliance with international laws and regulations, and adherence to established financial and banking standards.
The ministry also urged media organisations to exercise accuracy and professionalism when reporting on sensitive issues, emphasising the importance of relying on official sources and verified information.
It further called on media outlets to refrain from publishing or circulating unsubstantiated allegations that could mislead the public and create confusion regarding financial and diplomatic matters.
The statement comes amid heightened regional attention on financial transactions and sanctions-related issues, with UAE authorities reiterating their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the country’s financial system and international obligations.
