National Centre of Meteorology forecasts a fair but warm day across the Emirates, with rising humidity levels expected tonight.
ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates will experience generally fair weather today, Tuesday, June 2, with temperatures expected to soar to a high of 46°C in parts of Abu Dhabi. According to the daily forecast issued by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), while inland areas will see a noticeable spike in daytime heat, coastal regions will brace for a surge in humidity levels later in the evening.
Major urban centers are expected to remain warm throughout the day. Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are both projected to record maximum temperatures of 41°C, with overnight lows dipping to 29°C and 28°C respectively. Meanwhile, Dubai will see a slightly lower daytime high of 38°C, with temperatures dropping to 28°C during the night.
A key feature of today’s weather will be the fluctuating humidity levels, particularly along the coast. Residents in Dubai and Sharjah should prepare for sticky conditions as relative humidity is predicted to hit highs of 75%. In the capital, humidity levels will range between 30% and 70%.
The NCM noted that light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds will blow across the country at speeds of 10 to 25 km/hr. These winds may freshen at times, occasionally reaching speeds of up to 40 km/hr, which could kick up loose dust in open areas.
For residents planning maritime activities or evening strolls along the coast, sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are expected to start slight to moderate, but will turn rough at times overnight. Conversely, the Oman Sea will remain calm and slight throughout the day.
