Dubai: As heavy rains lashed Dubai over the past four days, the newly formed Neighborhood Team under the Dubai Police has emerged as a beacon of hope for residents. The team, primarily consisting of dedicated Malayali volunteers, has been at the forefront of relief operations, earning widespread praise for their selfless service.

Under the direct supervision and coordination of Dubai Community Police Officer Nasser Ahmed, the volunteers worked tirelessly alongside Dubai Municipality officials. Their efforts were crucial in clearing fallen trees from roads and footpaths, ensuring the smooth restoration of traffic flow across the city.
The team was actively involved in:
- Vehicle Recovery: Assisting in the safe removal of vehicles stranded in deep water.
- Drainage Management: Helping clear blockages to ensure rainwater receded quickly.
- Residential Aid: Providing essential support to families whose homes were affected by waterlogging.
Key members of the Neighborhood Police Team, including Nazeer Chokli, Ilyas Manangandath, Nazeer Madathil, Najeeb Parakkal, Ashraf Ayikkadi, and Ali Badriya, played a pivotal role in these operations. Notably, this group had previously received accolades from the Dubai Police and various social organizations for their outstanding contributions during the UAE floods and the COVID-19 pandemic. Both Dubai Police and Municipality authorities commended the team for their round-the-clock dedication to public safety.
