Marking the spirit of compassion and forgiveness associated with Ramadan, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has ordered the release of 1,856 inmates from Dubai’s correctional facilities.
The directive, issued in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, covers prisoners of different nationalities and aims to provide them with an opportunity to rebuild their lives and reunite with their families during the holy month.
Essam Issa Al-Humaidan, Attorney General of Dubai, emphasized that the pardon demonstrates the leadership’s desire to strengthen family bonds and promote rehabilitation. He added that the decision supports social reintegration efforts and reinforces humanitarian values central to the UAE’s governance.
Authorities confirmed that Dubai Public Prosecution and Dubai Police are working closely to complete the legal formalities required for the release process.
The move reflects the UAE’s broader commitment to tolerance, mercy, and community well-being during significant religious occasions.
