A large-scale Iftar gathering and the grand finale of the Holy Quran Recitation Competition for the Sayyid Hamid Koyamma Thangal Holy Quran Award will be held on March 7, organised by the Dubai Sunni Centre at the Women’s Association Auditorium, Al Baraha.
The programme forms part of the fifth commemoration conference of Sayyid Hamid Koyamma Thangal, former president of the Centre and a respected spiritual guide of the Malayali Muslim expatriate community in the UAE. Approximately 2,500 people are expected to attend the event.
The Quran Recitation Competition Season 3 finale will be the central attraction, reflecting the Centre’s commitment to promoting Quranic learning and spiritual excellence. A Ramadan address will be delivered by P M Abdussalam Baqawi, President of Dubai Sunni Centre and member of the Samastha Supreme Body. Several eminent Islamic scholars and community leaders will also grace the occasion.
Licensed by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), the Dubai Sunni Centre has been a cornerstone of religious, educational, and cultural activities for Malayali Muslims in the UAE for more than 30 years.
