Kottayam/Pathanamthitta/Kannur: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will kick off his election campaign in Kerala today, beginning with public engagements in Pathanamthitta district as part of the upcoming state assembly elections.
According to party sources, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address a public gathering in Pathanamthitta at around 11:45 AM. The visit marks the start of his multi-district campaign tour aimed at strengthening the United Democratic Front (UDF) ahead of the polls.
Following his engagements in Pathanamthitta, he will travel to Kottayam where he is expected to participate in meetings and interact with party workers and local leaders. Key locations in the itinerary reportedly include areas such as Pambadi and Kanjikkuzhi, where preparations are underway for public receptions.
On the second day of his campaign, Rahul Gandhi will visit Kannur, a politically significant district known for its strong party presence and intense electoral contests. His visit is expected to include rallies and strategy meetings with local leadership.
The campaign tour comes at a crucial time as political parties intensify their efforts across Kerala. The Congress-led UDF is aiming to regain power, while the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the BJP-led NDA are also stepping up their campaigns.
Rahul Gandhi’s tour is expected to focus on key issues including development, governance, and welfare, while also energizing party cadres at the grassroots level.
With multiple rallies and public interactions planned, the visit is likely to boost the momentum of the Congress campaign in central and northern Kerala.
