Abu Dhabi: Authorities have confirmed that a third fire broke out in the vicinity of the Khalifa Economic Zone Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) following the successful interception of a ballistic missile. Debris from the neutralized missile fell into the industrial zone, triggering the blazes. With the latest incident, the total number of injured persons has risen to six, including five Indian nationals and one Pakistani citizen.
The Abu Dhabi Media Office stated that the UAE’s air defense systems successfully neutralized the aerial threat, but falling fragments led to fire incidents at three different locations within the KEZAD area. While initial reports mentioned injuries to five Indian nationals, officials later confirmed that a Pakistani national also sustained injuries in the subsequent incident. Medical sources have confirmed that all the injured are in stable condition, having sustained only minor to moderate wounds, and are receiving necessary medical attention.
The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense responded swiftly to the scene and has successfully brought all three fires under control. Cooling operations are currently underway to ensure the safety of the site. Authorities have reassured the public that the situation is being closely monitored and have urged residents to remain calm.
In a statement, the government advised the public to rely exclusively on official news sources for updates and strictly warned against the circulation of rumors or unverified information on social media. This incident follows a similar event on Thursday, where missile debris on Sweihan Street tragically resulted in two fatalities.
