The Abu Dhabi Labour Court has ordered a company to pay Dh252,926 to a former employee towards unpaid salaries, annual leave allowance, and other employment benefits.
The employee, who worked with the company for approximately seven years, approached the Labour Court seeking payment of outstanding dues including salary arrears, end-of-service gratuity, overtime compensation, annual leave allowance, and notice period compensation.
According to court records, the employee stated that his total monthly salary was Dh17,000, including a basic salary of Dh10,200. In his claim, he sought Dh56,435 as end-of-service gratuity, Dh49,300 as leave allowance, Dh11,757 towards overtime wages, and Dh119,000 representing eight months of unpaid salary.
After reviewing the evidence and submissions, the Labour Court ruled in favor of the employee and directed the company to pay the claimed dues, including salary arrears, gratuity, and other statutory entitlements, amounting to Dh252,926.
The ruling reinforces employee protection under UAE labour laws, ensuring workers receive their contractual and legal benefits upon completion or termination of service.
